The Banff Marathon, Half Marathon and 10K offers one of the planets’ most incredible and beautiful running experiences, all in Canada’s first National Park. Starting in the picturesque mountain village of Banff, participants will flow through a series of incredible natural, wildlife, and historical stages as they pass by the serene Vermilion Lakes and journey along the stunning Bow Valley Parkway. The return trek will travel alongside the Bow River and over Banff’s famous bridges finishing to cheering crowds in Banff’s downtown Central Park. The Banff Marathon holds the title for the world ‘greenest’ marathon and is the remaining sporting event in the Banff National Park. At the 2017 Bow Valley Business Excellence Awards, the Banff Marathon was awarded the Innovation Award for Banff/Lake Louise region.
Carmella Consulting, set the Banff Marathon up with a Content Strategy and Social Media Plan that focused on brand awareness, attracting new prospects, and consistency & quality. Creating excitement before the event, to increase registrations and keep the registered runners informed was the task at hand for Carmella! During the event, our team covered the Banff Marathon all weekend, posting on social media, retrieving live footage and video footage for future promotion. Post-event, was wrap-up and event summary on social media! With over 2200 runners, social media is of the essence to a successful marketing campaign.
