Position Title: Content & Social Media Manager
Location: Canmore, AB or Satellite position
Duration: Full-time
The Content & Social Media Manager at Carmella Consulting is a highly motivated, creative individual with experience and a passion for connecting with customers, brands, and influencers in the digital space. That passion comes through as he/she engages with customers and influencers on a daily basis, with the ultimate goal of turning fans into customers.
Carmella’s Content & Social Media Manager will create and manage content and administer and manage social media marketing and advertising for a wide variety of Carmella Clients.
These activities include, but are not limited to:
- Deliberate planning and goal setting in the digital space
- Daily social media management (including monitoring, listening and responding to users in a “social” way while cultivating leads and sales)
- Content creation, management, and strategy (see below)
- Development of brand awareness and online reputation
- Basic SEO (search engine optimization) and generation of inbound traffic
- Cultivation of leads and sales
- Staying up-to-date with developments and generate new ideas to draw audience’s attention
He/she is also instrumental in managing Carmella’s clients’ content-related assets.
Content management duties include:
- Administrate the creation and publishing of relevant, original, high-quality and on-brand content (images, video and written)
- Create and maintain a regular publishing schedule
- Implement content editorial calendars and schedules to manage content and plan specific, timely marketing campaigns
- Write client blogs, articles, website content and media releases
- Create and execute newsletter campaigns
- Create and execute digital contesting and campaigns
- Inject personality into writing and suss out the “voice” of different brands
- Spot trends in media and ideally share content before it is seen everywhere
- Engage with other brands in a way that is sincere and ideally gets them talking
- Promote content through social advertising and other paid strategies
- Develop content strategies and social media plans aligned with short-term and long-term marketing targets
- Collaborate with marketing and design teams to plan and develop website content
- Edit, proofread and improve other writers’ posts
- Optimize content according to SEO
- Use content management systems to analyze website traffic and user engagement metrics
- Manage content distribution to online channels and social media platforms to increase web traffic
The ideal candidate must also:
- Work effectively with little to no supervision
- Have an excellent grasp of proper grammar
- Consistently meet strict deadlines
- Practice excellent time management
- Remain organized and focused in a fast-paced environment
- Juggle multiple projects, tasks, and shift priorities quickly
- Be able to analyze what is working and isn’t and explain
- Be extremely detail-orientated
- Maintain a working knowledge of principles of SEO including keyword research and Google Analytics
- Have experience with such tools as Hootsuite, Basecamp, WordPress, Canva and/or Photoshop
- Be flexible: as in, schedule posts in advance but be checking daily for comments or engagement, and be able to post within the hour – especially if a sudden opportunity arises like breaking news or an exciting announcement/ event
- Be willing and able to fuel the ongoing success and growth of Carmella Consulting by identifying new clients and providing internal company feedback to real business objectives
The Content & Social Media Manager should always be learning, as it’s a crucial component to their success. Social and digital marketing best practices shift constantly, so we provide the opportunity for training and/or attendance at applicable industry-specific webinars, workshops, and events.
