The Calgary Multisport Fieldhouse Society (CMFS) has been working since 2008 to promote the building of a multisport fieldhouse in Calgary.
Carmella was approached in 2018 to create a PR campaign and get the support of Calgarians for the Fieldhouse to be built. The project coincided with the 2026 Olympic Bid for Calgary and as such, the campaign for the Fieldhouse was very active.
Concept: A campaign that inspires Calgarians to take action to either send a letter of support to Mayor Nenshi and/or to donate to the GoFundMe campaign in support of the Fieldhouse moving forward before the budgeting and decision-making process in November.
The total amount of followers increased by 1,140 individuals on both platforms collectively, increasing it by 1,576% since the beginning of the campaign. The campaign utilized Facebook advertisement in order to extend the messages reach as well as to entice the audience. The ads generated 6328 paid link clinks to the GoFundMe page at .39 cents per link click and 726,392 impressions.
The campaign garnered a lot of earned media from CBC, Calgary Herald, Global News Calgary, and the Globe and Mail.
